		<description>i think you were on to something here by presenting a connection between the cathars and the tarot. however, the leap to the cards revealing the teachings of jesus is a bit off. i say this because there seems to be more heretical messages in the images of the tarot than the ones you would expect to find in the conventional or orthodox version of christianity. for example, in the world card, we see the figure of an obscure figure surrounded by a wreath, where we would expect to find jesus as christ in majesty, an image which was very common in the art of the fourtheenth century. 

i believe the cathars were the inspiration for the tarot&#039;s major arcana. but i see the cards revealing their plight during the albigensian crusade in the first part of the series and their spriritual messages within the latter part. check out my new book, the secret of the tarot, for a complete investigation of this context.</description>
